Create a file of barcodes

You can use any method of barcode collection that results in the proper ASCII text format. Use your scanner to scan barcodes into a ASCII text editor such as Notepad or SimpleText. You could also type the barcode numbers into the file.

note These are text editors that do not produce a ASCII text format: Microsoft Word, WordPad, or Apple TextEdit. Hidden characters created by these programs can cause the upload to fail.

To create a file

1. Open a ASCII text editor. See note above.
   The file does not need any header.
2. Scan the barcodes.
3. Name and save the file. Make sure to save it as a .txt file and record the name and location of the file.
4. Upload the file to the appropriate place.
