View a transaction history

In the Transaction History, Destiny® records information about every transaction involving, movement of, and change to, a resource. Each time an event occurs, Destiny records the event, the date, and the name of the person performing it.

From Circulation and several pages in the Catalog, you can add notes to a Transaction History.
Destiny retains the information about the events and the notes even after the item or any associated patron is deleted.

What events are included?

Destiny makes an entry in the Transaction History for each of the following events:

  • The item is added to, or deleted from, the collection.
  • The item is checked out, checked in, transferred, or received.
  • There is a change in its Custodian, Department, or Home Location.
  • The item is accounted for, or marked Lost, in an inventory.
  • Its Status (On Order, Available, In Use, Out for Repairs, Returned to Vendor, No Longer in Use, Available for Parts, Approved for Disposal, Stolen, Retired, or Lost) changes.
  • Its Condition (Usable, Damaged, or Unusable) changes.
  • A software license is assigned or removed
  • A historical note is added.
What information does the history contain?

Each entry includes the type of event, the date it occurred, and the username of the user who performed or initiated the event.

In addition, whenever an item is added to the collection, the information also includes the site name, Custodian, Department, Home Location, Status, and Condition at the time the item is added.

Whenever an item is received in a transfer, the information also includes the Custodian, Department, and Home Location at the time of receipt, even if there is no other change.

How is the history sorted?

The history is sorted by Date with the most recent event at the top.
To sort the history by Transaction or Performed By, click the column heading. Click again to invert the order.

How do I print the history?

To print the history, click Printable, and then use your browser's Print button or menu command.
