Use notesTo display information about a particular patron, copy, or item, you can attach notes to the record. When a note exists for that patron, copy, or item, a note icon appears next to the barcode whenever you retrieve a patron, copy, or item in Circulation. You can read the text of the note by clicking the barcode number or switching to Patron Status, Copy Status, or Resource Status. If you flag the note as important, the message appears automatically at the top of the page whenever:
When accessing the patron, copy, or item on subsequent pages, the important note does not appear. For resource items, the message appears automatically at the top of the page whenever you retrieve an item in Check Out Resources or Check In Resources. It is always available in the Circulation Notes section of Resource Status in Circulation. To create notes

In the record, multiple notes appear in date added/updated order, with the most recently created or modified one appearing at the top of the list. To edit a note, click the edit icon. To delete a note, click the delete icon. You can delete patron notes globally, by barcode, or based on a list you create, on the Delete tab of Update Patrons in the Back Office. Destiny® automatically deletes patron notes when transferring patrons if your Destiny Administrator has selected the Clear patron notes when transferring patrons on the Edit <district> page. To use notesUse a regular note to inform the staff of non-critical information about a patron, such as a reminder that the patron is looking for literature about organized bicycle rides in Iowa or traveling with chickens.
Use an important note to alert staff to special issues regarding individual patrons, such as having a large fine or a change in borrowing privileges. For copies, use it to alert the staff to special issues regarding the copy's circulation. For example, a CD is included and needs to be verified on checkin, or the copy needs to be reshelved with a special collection. Copy notes are not searchable in the Catalog. |
