Resource Policies

Resource Policies allow you to set up limitations for the circulation of your resources.

Resource Policies allow you to:

• define the loan periods
• assign defined limitations to your resources
• determine which resource types your various patron types are allowed to check out

When the circulation limits are defined, Check Out Resources in Circulation automatically assigns a loan period (the length of time a patron is allowed to keep an item) based on the patron type of the borrower and the resource type of the item.

noteDestiny® alerts you when a checkout violates one of the defined policies. When it does, a message appears, indicating the resource policy that the checkout violates. You must override it before continuing with the transaction.

important By default, all of your resource types have the System Default loan period.
