Manage Patrons
Manage Patrons lets you search, edit, and delete patrons.
- Destiny passes Patron Name and Patron Type data to Follett Digital Setup.
- Barcodes and User Names are generated and not functional or editable; User Names are system-generated and not functional or editable. In Destiny Discover, barcodes are referred to as Patron Identifier.
- Destiny passes on the user name, and the system appends a timestamp to it when finding the Destiny patron in Follett Digital Setup.
note The Patron Identifier field is the patron's barcode. The User Name field is a system-generated string that adds a numeric string value to the patron's last name. The patron's user name and barcode is in Destiny.
To manage patrons
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Manage Patrons. The Search Patrons page opens.
- Search for a patron.
- Find the patron you want.
- Use the following table to complete your task:

Edit a patron(s)

. The Edit Patron page opens.
- Make your changes accordingly.
note To give a patron access to create Reading Paths, run Reading Path reports, and share eBook notes, select the Classroom Instructor checkbox.
- Click Submit.

Delete a patron(s) |
important This only deletes Destiny Discover patrons, not Destiny patrons.
- To delete all patrons, select the first checkbox, and then click Delete.
- To delete an individual patron, select the checkbox next to the patron's name, and then click
.

Delete Patrons (only Destiny Discover)
Delete Patrons lets you only delete Destiny Discover (not Destiny) patrons, individually or in groups.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Delete Patrons.
- Make your selections accordingly.
- Click Delete All.
Create Codes
Create Codes lets you run reports, create redemption codes, and more for eTextbook titles.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Create Codes.
- Use the following table to complete the task:

Assigned Books
Assigned Books are classroom assignment titles. The activation code is generated at the time of the order. All students use the same redemption code to redeem a title to their Destiny Discover Menu. The Destiny Discover Menu is available in Destiny Discover. For details, see Destiny Discover Help.
The Assigned Books page lets you look up statistics on a title. It also lets you view patrons who have redeemed a code for a title.
To work with Assigned Books
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Assigned Books.
Policies
Policies lets you manage Patron and Circulation Types. Destiny® passes Patron Name and Patron Type data to Follett Digital Setup.
To manage circulation types
important You can change but not delete the circulation type default.
If you try to delete a title with a circulation type assigned to it, you are prompted to reassign the title to another circulation type.
- To access Follett Digital Setup, select Catalog > Search Setup > Digital > Digital Setup.
- Select Policies > Circulation Types.
- Use the following table to complete your task:
note If you have a Shared Account and do not want shared account users to access the circulation type, deselect the Allow Access to this Circulation Type checkbox.
To set a circulation type as the default, find the circulation type, and then select Action > Make Default.
Add a new circulation type

- Select +Add Circulation Type.
- In the Default Loan Period field, type the number of days for the loan period that will be assigned to this circulation type by default.
note When the Default Loan Period is set to zero, it limits access to titles to any patron assigned the given circulation type.
- Complete the fields as needed.
- Click Save.

Edit an existing circulation type |
- Find the circulation type, click the Action drop-down, and then click Edit.
- Make changes as needed.
- Click Save.

Delete an existing circulation type |
- Find the circulation type, click the Action drop-down, and then click Delete.

Change a Follett eBook's circulation type |
- Select Maintenance > Title Maintenance.
- Find the title of the eBook. Note that you can click a column name to sort the titles.
- Click the Circulation Type drop-down, and then select a circulation type.
- Click Save.

To manage Patron Types
important Default patron types cannot be deleted. If you try to delete a patron type that is assigned to a patron, you are prompted to reassign the patron to a different patron type.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Policies > Patron Types.
- Use the following table to complete your task:
note In the fields next to the patron type, type the number of days each Patron Type can check out eBooks for this circulation type.

- Select +Add Patron Type.
- Complete the fields as needed.
- Click Save.

Edit an existing patron type |
- Find the circulation type, and then click >. The Edit Patron Type page opens.
- Make changes as needed.
- Click Save.

Reports
Reports gives you multiple types of reports to generate. For report details, click for the applicable report.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Reports.
- Select the report you want.
- Complete the fields as needed.
- Click Run Report. The Job Manager opens.
Access Levels
Access Levels lets you set up a shared account for patrons that do not have unique usernames and passwords. You can also choose if you want patrons to be able to check out from the eReader, submit library reviews, and whether they see reminder messages.
To work with access levels
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Click Access Levels.
- Complete the fields as needed.
- Use the following table to complete the task:
note For non-Follett hosted customers that do not have the needed data, contact your local IT department for information. For Follett-hosted customers, contact Technical Support at 888.511.5114.
Set up a shared account
For the best eBook experience, it is recommended that students log in with unique usernames and passwords. This gives them access to check out, place a hold, and add a review to Follett digital materials, as well as use the Notebook features.

- In the Shared Account section, type a Login and Password for students to use to log in to Destiny Discover.
- Click Save.

Identify IP addresses/ranges so that patrons on an identified computer are automatically logged in as Shared users.
To let students read and listen to digital materials without logging in, but also prevent unauthorized users outside school from accessing these digital materials
When patrons open Destiny Discover from a configured address, they can search for and open Follett digital materials but cannot check them out, place a hold, or add a review.

- In the Shared Account section, click Configure IP Addresses.
- Select Single WAN IP address or Range of WAN IP addresses.
- Type the IP address of the computer or group of computers you want to grant access for. If you selected
Range of WAN IP addresses , type the subnet mask of the network in the Subnet Mask field.
- Click Add.
- When you are done adding computers or ranges, click Close.

Maintenance
Use the Setup page to configure user-defined patron fields and the Destiny Discover Home page, enable One Search™ and WebPath Express™, and more.
note The Destiny Discover Homepage Layout section lets you select screen size and the collections you see on the Home page—such as Lightbox, eBooks, audiobooks, and more.
To set up user-defined patron fields (only Destiny Discover patrons)
important You need to be in Destiny to access Follett Digital Setup. If you are in Destiny Discover, click Exit.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page. To get there, follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Maintenance > Setup.
- Make changes accordingly.
- Click Save.
To hide or unhide Follett eBook titles
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Maintenance > Title Maintenance.
- Find a title you want to hide or unhide, and then
select or deselect the Hidden checkbox.
If you want to find all hidden titles, click the Hidden column name.
To change a Follett eBook's circulation type
Approve Reviews
The Reviews Needing Approval page houses all Follett eBook reviews that need to be approved.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Select Approve Reviews.
- To approve, click Approve.
- If the review is inappropriate you can delete it. To delete the review, click Delete.
Job Manager
Job Manager houses generated reports.
- If you are not on the Follett Digital Setup page, then follow the steps in the blue title bar.
- Click Job Manager.
- Find the report you want.
- Choose what you want to do:
- To view the report, select Action > View.
- To delete the report, select Action > Delete.
